UB40 returns to Seychelles
The hit reggae band UB40 is to return to the Seychelles. The British outfit, which last played on the islands in 1990 on the last stop of an 18-month world tour, is booked for the official opening of the Eden Bleu hotel on October 18.
The 1990 visit was somewhat eventful. The sound system failed four times after a bottle of mineral water spilled into the music mixer and three of the band were deported after police found cannabis in their hotel rooms.
UB40 has sold over 70 million records and South African folk musician Jeremy Loops, who will be in support, said: “I am excited about opening up for UB40 in Seychelles.”
