As we celebrate this Christmas let us be positive about the future

I want to wish the people of Seychelles at home and abroad a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

It has been a mixed year for Seychelles and the political situation continues to disappoint me.

However, although I am now back in the United Kingdom, I will continue to monitor the activities of the politicians in our beautiful homeland.

There is much to be grateful – and proud – about life in our island paradise.

Yet, I equally despair about the ongoing critical comments and disagreements among substantial sections of our society. This friction remains a barrier to true unity and harmony.

I can only hope that, for 2023, things get a lot better.

Meanwhile, enjoy the Christmas celebrations and let’s be positive for the New Year.
