New role for Seychelles football star Kevin Betsy

Kevin Betsy is back in action in the footballing world after being appointed Assistant Head Coach at Cambridge United.
The Seychelles-born star said: “I am very excited. It is a fantastic opportunity.”
Kevin’s father Lewis, a former captain of the Seychelles national side, said: “The family is delighted that Kevin has this chance to showcase his talents. He is a great sportsman and everyone will benefit from his experience.”
Cambridge head coach Mark Bonner said: "I believe he will be a fantastic addition to our coaching team.
“His coaching journey has been varied and has seen him work with some top young talent in the development pathways, but his experiences across a variety of roles, along with his personality, will make him an excellent fit.
“He will complement our coaching team well and I believe he has the skills and personality to keep us improving and adapt to our culture quickly.”
Kevin, 45, will start work at the League One club immediately ahead of the squad’s return to pre-season.
His experience in the game is remarkable.
He has enjoyed an 18-year playing career which saw him play in all divisions from the National League to the Premier League, as well as star in the Seychelles national side.
Kevin began his coaching career with the FA in 2016 – working with the England U16s, U17s and then U18s age-groups – before taking the job of Arsenal U23s Head Coach in 2021.
Following a successful season with the Gunners, he was appointed Crawley Town Manager in June 2022, before spending a period on Kolo Toure’s coaching staff at Wigan Athletic.
