More choice for voters as Seychelles gets another political party
Seychelles has another political party – its eighth.
The Seychelles National Alliance Party (SNAP) has been registered with the Electoral Commission and its chairperson Vincent Padayachy said SNAP “will work to raise the level of all Seychellois from lower to upper class”.
The party will be talking to voters in halls in districts, he said, and will have door-to-door meetings to explain what their programme and aims are for the advancement of Seychelles.
Danny Lucas, chairperson of the Electoral Commission Seychelles, presented Mr Padayachy, with the certificates and documents at a ceremony at the Commission's headquarters at SACOS Tower in Victoria.
Other members of SNAP accompanied Mr Padayachy to the registration. They were Cyril Lautee as vice-chair, Godfra Hermitte as secretary general, treasurer Allen Dogley, and founding member, Ernesto Lionnet.
The next presidential and legislative elections are scheduled to be held in 2025.
